SCM, OBS, SPCLS, MADNESS!!!

Ok it will be another long post to compensate my inactivity…

Last week… Exam ended on 02 Dec… but didn’t really rest… only have 1 week of holiday to enjoy…went for outing with friends from wkwsci(bocelli) and photo imaging class 03 & 08 Dec respectively… went to SCM to help out with the drink station on 06 Dec, to raise funds for NTU CAC FOC 2010… We are there to prepare the drink station since 1am… quite lucky to get one of the earlier drink station as we can clear early after the last person pass…

This week…. Went for Outward Bound School’s (OBS) Course on 09 to 11 Dec. It’s part of the Minor in Entrepreneurship which starts on 14 Dec… The OBS course is fantastic… Especially the high elements and kayaking… The last day is the most physically demanding… we woke up at 3am from our campsite, trek back about 5km to OBS, had hour breakfast, and Kayak around Palau Ubin!!! The whole journey took about 6 hours covering a distance of about 21 km!!! I can’t believe that I did it!!!

Still quite high after the camp so went over to SPCMCC for K-Moberly Session… Was totally shack out when I reached home yesterday night… More or less, I had a lot of fun and made a bunch of very interesting friends… Even thought OBS try to build in some entrepreneurship elements, I feel that it’s still a very typical OBS course that focus on team-spirit la… It’s more of a recreation activity for me after exams and just before lesson start again…

Thanks to Kang Wei for helping me out with my course registration… which falls on 10 Dec when I am in Palau Ubin… And since I sold away my Samsung Omnia, I don’t have a smart-phone to access the Internet on such a remote island… Even if there is, can you imagine doing course registration on a smart-phone? confirm lose out on fastest finger first… Well, I got all the courses I want, but 5 day week… =( Hope to find someone to swap COM226 friday tutorial slot and I will be on 4 day week!!!

Well overall, the good thing about taking up this Minor is that although I burned my Dec holiday, I would be able to complete my degree in 3 years!!!

Today… Went to a Singapore Polytechic Chinese Language Society (SPCLS) gathering… a gathering that is held once in 10 years to gather all the member of SPCLS from 1964 to 2006… I feel so young over there man!!! Well, SPCLS has become SPCMCC when I took over as president in Sep 2006 because of some financial issue with the registrar… and thus, it was changed to be under the school instead of registrar of society… With that, I became sort of a revoluntionalist to them… lols… =P

Nevertheless, I had a great time and got to know some super super seniors too… I was not even born when some of them are with SPCLS… Over 200 people attended and it’s just simply an amazing event…

Was actually watching Miss World 2009 live on Ch 5 while typing this post… haha… Well, the winner is Kaiane Aldorino from Gibraltar… Mexico second… and South Africa third (expected, politically correct choice)… Ok… I think that’s all for now… Sorry for the randomness… =)

4 Exam Papers in 3 Continuous Days!

All theory somemore… it’s like 4x Social Studies in sec 4… (>.<)
Havent really ‘MUG’ for the past 5 years… POLY + NS = Slack till the MAX!!! Really need to adjust my mind to study le… urgh =S Exam is on 23,24,25 Nov… O.o

Lucky got 1 module w/o exam… phew… that is Photo Imaging… just submitted my assignment shots last friday and had a mini class outing with them… we talk a lot and it’s quite amazing to know so much about your classmates on the last day… Never regret taking up this course even though I spent like $100+ on films and photo-papers… kinda like the class culture… anyway… uploaded some of the shots that I like more here… the rest is on facebook…

Ok… Back to MUGGING…

Short Film in less than 42 hours!

These few months rarely you see me posting, so it’s even more rare to see me posting at this time… its 6:45AM now… O.o

Haven’t sleep for the pass 24 hours… working on the short film for the Fly by Night video competition…

Just finished editing the short film and it is now rendering and exporting phrase… Yeah!!!!

Actually I was quite amazed by myself, and the short film turns out pretty well too… Hope the judges would like it la…

Also, thanks so much to my awesome friends and team members who did their very best to contribute!

Oh well, exam’s coming in about 3 weeks times, with 2 assignments on hand, photography portfolio and website idea… will be quite “xiong” this week… #_# ……. but after completing the video competition, I think ”xiong-ness” is nothing!!! =D

Will upload the video after the official screening… stay tuned! =)

Simply love my new W995, it’s so cool and stylish. With 3.5mm jack, 8.1 mp camera, and blablabla… it’s like all in one… gone were the days of mp3 player… It’s quite compact and light also!

Was actually considering between X1 and w995 previously but X1 doesn’t provide voice recorder and it much more bukly, so comparing the price I think w995 more worth it.

Last saturday meet up with SP Chinese Language Society (now known as SPCMCC) Alumni, and I mean ALUMNI. They are actually organising a gathering in December, for all the past committees that they can find over the past 40 over years. The first president was in 1961, can you imagine, my parent’s generation… I think it will definitely be interesting!!!

Ok, enough slacking and resting after a super fierce recess week. Time to get back to work!

Never in my life have I ever travelled through so many MRT & LRT stations than today.

With my 4 concession trips, I travelled from:

Was at NSRCC (chalet) with NTU CAC FOC main committee. Checked out today morning, received call for an interview arrangment at NYP for assignment, so went home change before proceeding. Then went to NTU to loan camera and make up lecture for business law. Was super tired because didn’t really slept at the chalet. So after the business lecture at about 6.30pm, ate dinner with Kang Wei, then when home and sleep till now…

Planning to chiong finish all my 3 essays and 1 video tomorrow on my stay home saturday…. >.<

Palau Ubin + Wedding Dinner

Went to Palau Ubin today with NTU PVS. First time outing with them and it happen to be quite fun. Made some new friends and ya… It had been 4-5 years since I last visited Ubin… haha… Well, nothing much had changed, just that the jetty and chek jawa had been beautified…

Then came reached home at about 5pm, wash up, and went for a wedding dinner… Super good food la…

Haiz… Sian… Still haven’t think of a topic to write on for assignment yet… health??? social??? leisure???… hais… >.<

My New Hybrid Cabinet !!!

YAY! My new hybrid cabinet is completed! It’s a completely original furniture designed by me!

Something amazing the contractor said is that it’s the first time they tailor this kind of ’special’ furniture in Singapore! So proud of myself! =D

During Construction

It’s Done !!!

3 drawers at the bottom, the 2 sections(top and bottom) that is facing the bed can be used to put PC/Labtops.I’m going to install a power plug in each section sometimes later… then can enjoy the comfort of using labtop on my bed! =D

Ok, I should get back to studying! mid-terms coming…. 2 quizes on tues and wed respectively… =S

The time now is 6:08am in the morning… Didn’t sleep for almost 24 hours already… and need to endure another 16+ hours = S… Have been writing my article for COM204… The interviews came so late… but lucky the trips were not a wasted as the quotes came in quite “powderfuly”… Argh… More assignments!!!

Photography Assignment… havent even borrow a camera yet…

Monday Blues…

Monday was usually a day that most people don’t look forward to… those working have to start work and those schooling, start school… But it was different for me… It’s my free day!!

However, the school’s loaning system just killed it x_x… The procedure is such that we have to return on the working day 48 hours after it was loaned out… Thus, whether I loan it on THU or FRI, I will have to return the camera on MONDAY~ = S

So… I have to go to school just to return camera and go home… >,< …but that not the worse thing that can happen… the loan store was suppose to be open at 12-1 and 4-6… I went there at 12… and they put a HaNdWrItTeN notice: “Open @ 4 today”… so ugly and unprofessional la… lucky Elena was kind enough to help me return… else I would have to rot for 4 hours…

Perhaps next time I should share camera with someone else….
